Tuesday afternoon took me out of Mackay through the scenic cane fields to the tiny town of Eton. As much as I have my favourite Mackay go-to-locations, I’ll always take the chance to stop in a beautiful location for portraits – Eton was absolutely worth it for this sweet family.
Every family has their trials and triumphs, strengths and struggles and everyone’s tolerance to life’s events vary. Although their story is not mine to share this sweet family is no stranger to life’s rollercoaster. When Rachel reached out and talked about her story and what she wanted from her extended-family session: “I truely love the the vibrancy of your photos and thought these would be very suited for our memories” – will someone please bring me some tissues! It’s incredibly humbling to be the chosen one to capture such precious family portraits and memories, and a job I take very seriously.
I met this stylish and well-dressed family at Grandmas and Grandads before walking over to a tiny patch of un-mowed grass with beautiful (weedy) flowers. Rachel had organised a gorgeous couch from Mackay Rustic Hire, not only did it enhance the session, it was also used for the family to relax and Grandad to teach his great-grandson all things tech (yes I saw you grandad! spot that photo in the scroll!) while they weren’t in front of the camera.
Rachel and Leighton, meeting and spending time with your wonderful family has been an absolute highlight of mine. The courage and love that surrounds your family is truely amazing and I am so grateful to have experienced that – thank you x
