When I say I love collaborating with passionate local business owners, I mean it. Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of working with JB Skincare, a beautiful natural Australian skincare brand founded by Rockhampton-based beautician Jody Beckett.
Jody was on-site as the makeup artist for a brand shoot, and she generously sent me home with some of her products to try. So of course, I returned the love the best way I know how, with fresh, intentional studio product photography captured right here in my Mackay studio.
And honestly? This shoot was such a dream.
I photographed Jody’s products in my Mackay studio using a clean white-on-white setup. White bottles. White backdrop. Soft shadows. Crisp light.
Then I layered in subtle, earthy elements to reflect the heart of her brand.
To complement the clean white packaging, I introduced Baby Blue Eucalyptus. Its muted blue-green tones softened the frame while enhancing the organic, earthy aesthetic to add that gentle Australian, botanical feel. The muted blue-green tones worked beautifully against the white packaging. They softened the scene without distracting from the product.
For another setup, I introduced natural stone. The texture added depth while still keeping everything minimal and refined. This combination of clean and earthy felt perfectly aligned with a natural Australian skincare brand.

For this Mackay product photography session, I focused on:
One of my favourite frames captured the product mid-dispense, with soft foam flowing from the bottle. That movement adds life to skincare imagery. It makes the product feel real and usable. It helps customers imagine it in their own routine.
Professional skincare product photography needs more than just a “pretty” image. It needs clarity. Texture. Light that highlights ingredients and finish. Strong, scroll-stopping composition.
That’s exactly what I aim to create for every Central Queensland brand I work with.
Jody, founder of JB Cosmetics and Skincare, created her brand with intention. She focuses on high-quality, Australian-made formulations using pharmaceutical-grade ingredients like AHA/BHA and essential skin vitamins. Her mission centres around simplifying skincare while supporting natural beauty.
As someone based in Mackay, I love collaborating with Rockhampton business owners. It strengthens our creative community across Central Queensland. And when brands can ship products for studio photography, it opens up even more opportunities for strategic, high-end content creation.
Clean imagery builds trust. Consistent brand visuals increase credibility. Strong product photography supports online sales.
And that matters.

Skincare is tactile. It’s sensory. It’s about texture, finish, and results. Your photography must communicate that instantly.
Bright, intentional lighting highlights product clarity. Neutral styling keeps the focus on ingredients. Earthy details subtly reinforce brand values like “natural Australian skincare.”
Studio product photography gives brands full control over lighting, styling, and composition. That control creates consistency across websites, social media, and campaigns.
And consistency builds recognition.
If you’re a skincare or beauty brand in Mackay, Rockhampton, or anywhere in Central Queensland and you’re ready to elevate your visuals, I would love to create something beautiful for you.
