Even before I started to write about last night’s engagement shoot in Mackay, and before this entertaining couple have seen a sneak peek of an image, they sent through one of the best compliments I as a photographer and hopefully as a person in general could ever receive… thank you for making it a comfortable and relaxed session, you made me feel at ease and I felt good – hopefully it shows.
Sure I strive for beautiful well composed images, but what is the point of beautiful images if a client feels uncomfortable with me and in front of the camera, they will remember how they felt and will see that in their images, no matter how well a portrait is composed.
Kearrina and Craig have been together for many years and have three gorgeous boys. As gorgeous as the boys are I am beyond grateful that they agreed to leave the boys behind and to treat themselves to some couples time. Let’s face it, once kids come along there are very little opportunities to dress up and have a nice portrait with your significant other. Kearrina spent the afternoon being pampered, dressing up in a frock and heels, while Craig humoured his fiancée dressed the part and obliged for this session. For someone who doesn’t like his picture taken, he sure was a natural and together they flowed through the poses seamlessly.
Some of Mackay’s iconic structures and buildings were the backdrop to yesterday’s engagement session, there is something special about our small city’s history and I look forward to more engagement sessions in town.
Kearrina and Craig, thank you for trusting me to capture your engagement, although you joked that your engagement may never see you at the altar to say I do, I truely am thankful that you now have beautiful memories captured in this special season of you life.
