This is what I want for your maternity portrait experience…
Following your session you both head out for dinner – after all you already look the part – to appreciate adult conversation and enjoy the moment knowing that everything is well and how it’s meant to be right now.
For the partners… having you included in the Maternity Experience is so important. When I meet the partners at the beginning of a session, one of the first things I hear is “I don’t like my photo being taken” – I hear you, I married a guy who says the same thing. But I’ll let you in on a secret, those that show up and take part, they receive sooo much glory! You may not remember your hour session with me in years to come, but your lady will, and for that she will always be thankful to you.
For as long as I have had a camera in my hands, I’m hardly ever in front of the camera, I completely understand the awkwardness and wondering if I’m doing the right thing and if my flaws/self conscious parts are concealed – so I’m going to support and encourage you all the way. During your session, I’ll take the lead to help guide you into natural poses, I’ll let you know what to do with your arms and hands, and flatter your bodies in the utmost way.
Is there a best time for maternity portraits? I personally find 25-30 weeks gestation photographs beautifully. There will be enough of a bump to hold and you will be comfortable throughout the session – it also almost guarantees gorgeous maternity portraits before bub arrives!
Angela & Justin, Thank you for getting pampered and showing up! We did well to battle and dodge the wind! I look forward to Olivia becoming a big sister and hearing all about bub’s arrival! Enjoy the scroll and reminisce on a striking dream like afternoon xx
